Broad dollar selling on Thursday drove the U.S. currency to a 5-1/2-month low against the Swiss franc as worries grew about the strength of the U.S. economy.

The dollar fell 1 percent to 1.0402 francs, according to electronic trading platform EBS, its lowest since January 26.
