After a plunge on Monday that saw some big losses, U.S. stocks have begun to rise and recover, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) gained more than 600 points during afternoon trading on Tuesday.

The Dow strengthened 651.53 points to 34,617.36 at 12:56 p.m. EDT, after losing 725 points the day prior.

The S&P 500 Index (GSPC) also saw gains, with an increase of 74.85 to 4,332.96. The NASDAQ Composite Index (IXIC) also moved higher, up 235.72 to 14,511.93.
