  • Fabio Paratici believes Ronaldo will stay with Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo is allegedly regretting his decision of leaving Real Madrid to transfer to Juventus in July last year, a number of reports say. The Portuguese superstar is said to have expressed his laments over to his teammates and reportedly rued his choice of leaving the Spanish ball club.

The speculation, as published by Sky Sports, started when the UEFA Champions League all-time top goalscorer failed in his bid to reclaim the Ballon d'Or this year. Earlier this month, the 34-year-old soccer legend placed third for the award captured by his archrival Lionel Messi. Adding more fuel to the buzz fire, it also said that Ronaldo believes he would have won the last two Golden Balls had he stayed with Real Madrid.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or was seized by his former teammate Luka Modric, but Ronaldo insisted that he should have been declared the winner, claiming that his numbers don’t lie. "On the pitch I've done everything to win the Ballon d'Or, numbers do not lie, but I'm no less happy if I do not win, I have wonderful friends and a family, I play in one of the best clubs,” Ronaldo said on his defeat where he placed second to Modric.

Last September, Cristiano Ronaldo was also quoted saying that he deserves more Ballon d’Or awards. Nonetheless, he was quick to admit that he needs more to ultimately get past Lionel Messi. At that time, both of the football greats had five of the accolade each. "I would love [more], and I think I deserve it," Ronaldo said. "Messi is a fantastic guy, a fantastic player. He's in the history of football - but I think I have to have six or seven or eight to be above him,” he added.

On the contrary, Juventus Sports Director Fabio Paratici had already claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo actually wants to win a Ballon d’Or while donning the Italian club’s jersey. “He wants to win another Ballon d’Or and wants to do it with us. We support him,” Paratici said. In fact, the 47-year-old former footballer believes that Ronaldo deserved to win the last Golden Ball. “He wanted the Serie A MVP because he is an ambitious person and wants to prove that he is also the best here. In our opinion, he deserves the Ballon d’Or,” he said.
