A tourist died while taking photos at the Grand Canyon this week.

The unidentified male is in his late 50s and from Hong Kong. While the Eagle Point observation area he was visiting has ledges and outcroppings below, there is no barrier between tourists and the edge. CNN reports the man, who was visiting with a tour group, fell to his death Thursday while taking pictures.

"The thoughts and prayers of every Grand Canyon West employee remain with the loved ones of this individual and the members of the tour group," the tourist destination said in a statement.
