British singer and ex-Smiths frontman Morrissey was set to kick off his latest tour Tuesday night with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” but he dropped out of the show after learning that the stars of the hunting show “Duck Dynasty” would be appearing as well. Now it seems there’s bad blood all around.

On Tuesday, Morrissey, who is a militant vegetarian, told Pitchfork he could not appear alongside the “Duck Dynasty” stars, stating that, "As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump 'Duck Dynasty,' then we must step away."

In response, Kimmel spent a section of his show mocking Morrissey for his withdrawal, and the “Duck Dynasty” stars appeared in a mock commercial selling “hunting supplies” for vegans. The “Duck Dynasty” stars also referred to vegetables as “yuppie food” during the sketch.

This did not make Morrissey happy at all. He released another statement to Pitchfork condemning the show as intellectually devoid of meaning and extremely offensive.

“I was disappointed with last night’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show,’” Morrissey told Pitchfork, “wherein our smiling host managed to ridicule depression (70 percent of Americans have experienced depression according to the National Institute of Mental Health). He then found time to ridicule healthy eating (the obesity epidemic in the U.S. costs $147 billion per year in medical expenditure), and he also ridiculed the notion that animals should be entitled to the possession of their own lives. Furthermore, he found time to jokingly promote gun ownership - hugely amusing for the parents at Sandy Hook, no doubt. He also promoted his special guests 'Duck Dynasty' — who kill beings for fun. None of the above issues are, of course, as important as Jimmy Kimmel himself, who has finally revealed his show to have an overwhelming loss of meaning. Tune in and relive the intellectual fog of the 1950s.”

Neither Kimmel nor the “Duck Dynasty” cast have released a response to Morrissey’s latest diatribe, though one assumes it would be very tounge-in-cheek.

But perhaps, Morrissey suggests, the “Duck Dynasty” stars could cure themselves of their “animal serial killer” status simply by becoming homosexuals.

In a separate interview with Rookie Mag that went live on Tuesday, the former Smiths frontman claimed, “If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love killing other men.”

“They even get medals for it,” Morrissey continued. “Women don’t go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies.”

This charming man, indeed.
