Ex-Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak was taken back to Cairo's Tora Prison on Monday evening after Prosecutor-General Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud ordered that the ailing former president could no longer stay at a military hospital.

Mubarak was initially transferred from the Tora Prison Hospital to the Maadi Military Hospital after he suddenly and mysteriously fell ill in June. Mubarak has had health troubles since the revolution, the details of which have been kept secret from the public.

The deposed president is serving a life sentence for the role he played in the death of 800 protestors during the uprising in January and February 2011.
