But the Queen and the other members of the British clan thought that she was suitable for the playboy prince.

In the book “Sarah: HRH The Duchess of York,” royal author Ingrid Seward also revealed that the Queen Mother immediately felt a liking towards Fergie because she was so English.

“The Queen Mother went further and said that any girl of 26 would have had previous boyfriends; it was perfectly natural and she thought Sarah would be ideal for Andrew,” Seward said.

In the documentary “The Royal Family: Affairs and Infidelities,” royal author Anna Pasternak also said that the Queen was a huge fan of Ferguson and she also had enormous affection for her.

By the looks of it, the Queen and the royal family treated Ferguson differently from Camilla because she was not in a relationship with the heir to the throne. And even though she has had several other boyfriends in the past, she was never married to any of them.

But at the end of the day, it is still Camilla and Prince Charles’ relationship that survived. After dating in the 1970s, the couple called it quits. Prince Charles eventually married Princess Diana. But after a few years, they called it quits.

In 2005, Prince Charles and Camilla tied the knot in a civil ceremony. Until today, the couple seems to be happily married to each other. They were not blessed with their own kids but Camilla has developed a close relationship with Prince Charles’ sons.

</picture>
Sarah Ferguson arrives to take her seat inside St George's Chapel ahead of the wedding of her daughter Britain's Princess Eugenie of York to Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle, in Windsor, on Oct. 12, 2018.
Photo: Getty Images/Yui Mok

Join the Discussion
