Rochelle Sterling, the estranged wife of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, condemned her husband’s “despicable” racist comments on Sunday.

In a statement, Sterling’s wife, who goes by the name “Shelly,” expressed outrage over a phone conversation that the Clippers owner allegedly had with his girlfriend, Vanessa Stiviano. During the phone call, Sterling told Stiviano that he didn’t want her to bring black people to Clippers home games or post photos of herself posing with black people on her Instagram account.

“Our family is devastated by the racist comments made by my estranged husband,” Shelly Sterling said in the statement, via TMZ. “My children and I do not share these despicable views or prejudices. We will not let one man’s small-mindedness poison the spirit of the fans and accomplishments of the team in the city we love.”

“We are doing everything in our power to stand by and support our Clippers team,” she added.

Sterling was also courtside at Sunday’s Clippers-Warriors game. During the action, she spoke with a sideline reporter and reiterated that she is not a racist, TMZ reports.

Shelly and Donald Sterling have been separated for several years, the website notes. However, Sterling’s wife is reportedly in the midst of a lawsuit against Stiviano, whom she accuses of being a “gold digger” who seduced Sterling into buying her gifts.

In her lawsuit, Shelly Sterling alleges that Stiviano coaxed her husband into spending nearly $2 million on her, the Los Angeles Times reports. She claims that Donald Sterling used “community property” to buy Stiviano several cars and a $1.8 million duplex in Los Angeles.

Although the property was purchased in her husband’s name, Shelly Sterling claims that Stiviano has title and refuses to surrender it. Stiviano’s lawyer, Mac Nehoray, claims that there isn’t “a peppercorn of a fact” that Stiviano used fraud to get Sterling to purchase the gifts.
