Selena Gomez showed some leg at the New York City launch of her perfume, but was her look too risqué for a 19-year-old?

Selena Gomez launched her debut fragrance at NYC's Macy's Herald Square on Saturday in a starfish-and-seashell-printed bustier with matching shorts from Versace's Spring 2012 collection. Nude Giuseppe Zanotti heels made her bronzed legs look extra, extra long and lean.

My legs [are my favorite body part]! the singer and actress told Us Weekly at the Big Apple event. She said her hectic schedule keeps her legs in tip-top shape. When I'm on tour I dance a lot, and I wear a lot of heels.

If I watch Britney's old music videos, I'm like, 'Oh my gosh I need to go to the gym.' Especially watching 'I'm a Slave for You.'

The brunette beauty finished her look with a cream-colored Vanessa Brunco collarless jacket, gold hoops and soft makeup.

But was the look age-appropriate?

The 19-year-old actress loped out into the New York sunshine last week wearing, essentially, a Versace bikini, Vanessa Bruno blazer and the triumphant grin of a girl who just stole somebody's stylist, commented E! News.

Selena Gomez hit the concrete jungle in an outfit that might have been better suited for lounging poolside in Miami, quipped Us Weekly.

Gomez seems to be embracing a sexier, more mature side these days.

In the purple-hued ad for her namesake perfume, Gomez poses soaking wet, in a waist-high body of water, dressed in a strapless flowing purple gown. Her dark hair is slicked back to reveal gold hoop earrings and smoky makeup. She described the motif of the ad as simple and pretty to Us Weekly.

Even though she might have gotten her start on the Disney Channel, the young starlet has since come a long way from Waverly Place. She made her high-fashion debut on the cover of Elle's July issue (click to see the steamy editorial spread).

Decked out in pieces from Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Vera Wang, Marni, David Yurman, Manolo Blahnik and Yves Saint Laurent, Selena Gomez looks more like a sultry screen siren than a 19-year-old who, just five years ago, was playing the role of the bratty and quirky teen wizard, Alex Russo.

Gomez flaunted some major cleavage in the editorial spread, revealing curves that some might not have even known she had.

What did you think of Selena Gomez's perfume launch look? Simply stylish or too risque?
