Stocks dip as materials and energy decline
Stocks turned lower on Monday after rising at the open, with materials and energy among the top declining sectors as oil prices fell.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 12.09 points, or 0.12 percent, at 10,131.72. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dipped 2.58 points, or 0.24 percent, at 1,074.18. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 7.89 points, or 0.35 percent, at 2,215.59.
