Chief Executive Zev Weiss, other members of the founding Weiss family and related parties raised their offer from $17.18 American Greetings share to $17.50 per share, Reuters reported.

First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE:FHN) shares surged 3.21 percent to $10.60 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $7.44, a 52-week high of $10.99 and $2.54 billion in market capitalization.

KBR Inc. (NYSE:KBR) shares advanced 2.76 percent to $31.23 in post-market trading after surging more than 3 percent in regular trading. The company announced Thursday that it was awarded a contract by Cambodian Petrochemical Co. Ltd (CPC) to provide licensing and engineering services for the Veba Combi Cracker (VCC) Unit to be implemented in the Kampong Som Petrochemical Industrial Zone of Cambodia.

The company announced Thursday that its Board of Directors had declared a regular quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of $0.25 per share, payable March 29, 2013 to shareholders of record March 14, 2013.

Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE:COF) shares plunged 7.27 percent to $57.11 in post-market trading.
