Thousands watched Heart singer Ann Wilson sing the national anthem before the San Francisco 49ers battled the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game Sunday on Fox. She’s also the same person everyone was talking about Sunday night after her rusty rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” at CenturyLink Field in Washington state.

Though the Heart rocker started out singing admirably for her hometown and beloved team, the Seahawks, things ultimately took a turn for the worse when she tried to hit the high notes at the end. Some said it was almost reminiscent of Roseanne Barr’s attempt at singing the national anthem. Wilson was off-key and her voice began to crack slightly. The audience roared, but it’s not clear if they were trying to cheer the singer on or drown her out.

People on Twitter, naturally, had plenty to say about Wilson’s rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Some joked that she sounded like she was in pain, that maybe she had just passed a kidney stone. Others quipped she might have taken a quick cigarette break before she sang. Others, however, were impressed with the way the Heart frontwoman performed and took to the social media site to give her props. Heart is just about to kick off a U.S. tour and is schedule to perform Jan. 31 through April 6, Classic Hits wrote.

Check out what the Twitterati had to say below about Wilson below:

Whoever wins the NFC Championship will continue to Super Bowl 2014, where they’ll take on the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
