SummerSlam is set to be a summer party for World Wrestling Entertainment and its fans, with "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D and WWE superstar Chris Jericho both involved in the event. Pauly D will be the DJ for WWE's SummerSlam VIP kick-off party which takes place before the pay-per-view in Los Angeles, according to Bleach Report, and Jericho will be able to make the event despite earlier claims he made in an interview, reports Wrestling Zone.

WWE's SummerSlam VIP kick-off party will take place before SummerSlam begins, but there is no report of DJ Pauly D making any in ring appearance. It is unlikely that he will be doing more than just DJing the party before the show, since WWE hasn't advertised his appearance in recent weeks and that would be a draw for the event.

It was reported last week after an interview from Icon vs. Icon with Chris Jericho that the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla would be leaving WWE before SummerSlam to work with has heavy metal band Fozzy. The band's tour and promotion of their new album "Sin and Bones" is Jericho's top priority, but Wrestling Zone reports that Fozzy has been removed from an Aug. 19 tour date.

Citing PWInsider, Wrestling Zone wrote "Chris Jericho's band Fozzy is no longer being advertised to play the Uproar Music Festival on August 19th, making Jericho available to appear at SummerSlam." This means that a match between Y2J and Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler can be scheduled for SummerSlam, though it has not officially been set by WWE.

If the Ziggler vs. Jericho match is added to the card that would make only four set matches for the pay-per-view. Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title, CM Punk vs. Big Show vs. John Cena for the WWE Title, and Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H have all been announced at recent WWE events.

With only three set matches, SummerSlam will need more than just Ziggler vs. Jericho to fill up the timeslot. Another possible match is Kane vs. Daniel Bryan with possible involvement from Charlie Sheen, after Sheen had harsh words for Bryan at RAW 1000.

Christian and The Miz could be set against one another in a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship after Christian lost the title to Miz at the last pay-per-view and hasn't had a rematch yet. Also, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth could defend their Tag Team Championships against The Prime Time Players Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, who have beaten Kingston and Truth in singles matches this past week and RAW and SmackDown.
