Before Sophia Hutchins became the beautiful partner of Caitlyn Jenner, she was Scott Hutchins, a Pepperdine University student who was involved in various causes and was even SGA Junior Class President on the Class of 2018. Pre-transition, Sophia preferred the use of male pronouns and she even claimed that she was gay because she thought it would be easier to get people’s acceptance this way.

However, Hutchins made that brave move of finally coming to terms with her sexuality when she saw Jenner’s interview on ABC’s “20/20.” This made such a big impact on her life that she opted to push through with her transition journey even if it meant resigning from her position as class president. This also meant saying goodbye to her former self. See photos of Scott Hutchins by clicking here and here.

When she started college, Hutchins already took necessary steps to realize her transition. She had medical procedures, did hormone treatments and even had hair removal procedures. She did all these years after she first verbally expressed that she’s a woman to one of her closest friends when she was just 15.

In 2016, Hutchins took a leave of absence from school to complete her physical transformation into a woman. When she returned to Pepperdine in the fall of 2017, she re-introduced herself to everyone as Sophia. According to her, she was hoping for the big change to inspire others who may be struggling with their identities just like what she went through as Scott.

In her interview with their school newspaper, Sophia admitted that she only thought of transitioning when she got into college because it was the time when she was able to break away from her family and it gave her the space to establish her own identity.

Hutchins admitted that aside from the inspiration she got from Jenner, the strong support of her family and friends, both within and outside of Pepperdine, made her go through with her transition at full speed. She emphasized that having friends who have gone through the same thing also helped her.

When she was still studying at Pepperdine, Hutchins was the chair of the LGBTQ+ committee and she’s also a member of Crossroads, the school’s first LGBTQ+ club. Her involvement in the LGBTQ+ community is just one of the many things she shares with Jenner. That’s why the two of them became inseparable ever since they were introduced to each other by their stylist and makeup artist.

Last year, Sophia moved into Caitlyn’s $3.5 million Malibu hilltop home. Aside from staying in the same house, they also go on dates and travel together. Last month, they went to Athens together and toured the beautiful city of Greece for 24 hours. Since their trip was brief, Hutchins swore that she and Jenner would come back.

At the end of March, Hutchins celebrated her 23rd birthday with Jenner and some of their closest friends. The aspiring model then dropped a bombshell when she seemingly confirmed her romance with Jenner, who is 57 years older than her. She apparently called the “I Am Cait” star her “loving partner” in her Instagram post about the people she chose to surround herself with.

Despite Sophia’s sweet gesture, she and Caitlyn have yet to personally confirm or deny their rumored romance this year. Last year, Hutchins insisted in an interview that they were just business partners. A source close to them also maintained in February that what they have is a purely platonic relationship. However, the pair continue to be plagued by romance rumors at present.
