Alanis Morissette, Raphael Saadiq, and KT Tunstall are among the artists who will appear on Live From the Artist's Den, a new show the will debut on public television stations.

The show places musicians in unusual venues. One episode will feature The Hold Steady performing in a former bank building in New York City.

The show will be produced by two New York public television stations, WNET and WLIW. Other public television stations in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Houston, Miami and elsewhere have also said they will air the program.

The New York public stations -- which hosted The Police for a benefit in their final concert last summer -- see it as a way of attracting a younger audience.
