Hundreds of students at Lincoln High School in California have staged a walkout after the mother of a 15-year-old girl alleged that her daughter was sexually assaulted by a fellow student and that the act was filmed.

Chaotic scenes unfolded Tuesday as the victim's mother and a few other parents pulled off a demonstration outside the school on Euclid Avenue and Market Street in the Lincoln Park area of San Diego, NBC 7 reported.

The demonstrators chanted and waved placards at passing motorists who honked in support. The victim's mother, identified only as "Fabi," demanded that severe charges be brought against the accused minor.

"My charges against him were sexual assault, rape and child pornography," she told the outlet.

The mother claimed that the assault took place off campus, in a field just about a mile from the school, on Jan. 12. The victim was at the place with the accused to just hang out and grab some snacks when the latter kept insisting that they had sex until she finally gave in.

Fabi also said the video of the act was then circulated among students, which left her daughter feeling humiliated. The video was reported to the San Diego Unified School District Police six days after the alleged assault, the mother added.

"You could see it in her eyes and her tears, how she was overwhelmed, how she's not eating. She's depressed, has suicidal thoughts," Fabi told the outlet.

The mother then said she was appalled to see how the accused student still attended his classes whereas her daughter was back home struggling to come to terms with the wrongdoing.

"He's going on with his life and my daughter is just stuck. That is very, very frustrating for me," Fabi said, adding that despite the school district having outlined a safety plan for her daughter, she refuses to remain at home.

San Diego Unified School District said in a statement to ABC 10 News that they have taken the allegations into serious consideration and an investigation is underway.

"All allegations are taken seriously and are investigated. Because there is an ongoing investigation by law enforcement that involves students, we cannot comment on details of the situation," the school district said.

However, Fabi said there have been no actions taken by the district thus far. She plans to continue her protest.
