South African gold medalist, Caster Semenya, made headlines in August after breaking world record in women's 800m and subsequently faced accusations of being a man.

The 18-year-old runner was given a makeover and appears on the cover of one of South Africa's magazines with the title, Wow, look at Caster now!

Semenya in YOU magazine has makeup, a dress, and a new hairstyle. She is also seen in a variety of stylish outfits, including leather pants and a sequined top in four inside pages of magazine.

Semenya told the magazine, I am who I am and I am proud of myself.

I'd like to dress up more often and wear dresses but I never get the chance, she added.

Since the publication the magazine has come under criticism leaving veteran politician, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela 'horrified'.

It was totally outrageous. It was the most cruel prank any human could inflict on another. It added salt to a gaping wound, Madikizela-Mandela said last night.

That was grossly irresponsible, that was cruel, that was vicious. I don't think anyone who did such a thing should be forgiven by society. How do you do that?, she added.
