New Antidepressant Research Halts, Research Shows No Difference In Patients
The development of a novel antidepressant ground to a halt this week when researchers found it did not make patients feel any better than the pills they were already taking. Essence.com

Do you live in one of the top 10 saddest cities in America? Maybe.

Men's Health has rounded up a list of the 100 saddest and happiest cities in America. And, although some may think sunshine equals happiness, that is not the case.

The No. 1 saddest city is St. Petersburg, Florida, which once got a Guinness-record setting 768 straight days of sunny rays. Apparently, even that was not enough to combat the blues in the Florida town.

In fact, Florida has three cities in the top 10 saddest cities list, including St. Petersburg, Tampa and Miami.

Even Orlando -- the city with the Happiest Place on Earth, Disney World -- ranks in the top 20.

Second on the list is Detroit, Michigan. This might have something to do with the jobless rates in the city, which ranked the highest for September 2011 at 13.1 percent.

Despite the bright lights and the allure of Lady Luck, Las Vegas ranked as the tenth saddest city in America.

Bostonians are far happier than New Yorkers. The New England city came in at No. 5 in the happiest cities in America, while New York came in at No. 39.

Men's Health ranked the cities by more than just psychological analyses. The calculators measured suicide rates (based on CDC numbers) and unemployment rates (based on Bureau of Labor Statistics as of June 2011).

Then, they used SimplyMap to find out what percentage of households in a given city use antidepressants, as well as the total number of people who reported feeling bluesy all or most of the time.
