Verizon might delay the launch date of Samsung Galaxy Nexus, one of the most anticipated Android smartphones this year, beyond Dec. 9, a move that could leave Android fans who are looking forward to using Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0 OS) speechless.

Recently, rumors flew thick and fast that the U.S. launch date for Galaxy Nexus has been fixed for Friday. The rumors grew louder as various tech sites asserted the launch date based on a slew of leaked e-mails, ads, etc. reportedly from Verizon.

However, the excited fans of the smartphone should wait more in patience, for Galaxy Nexus launch date has been delayed, Verizon sources reportedly told Android Central and Droid Life.

Droid Life even shows a screenshot of Verizon's equipment guide, which says Launch date coming soon. The same guide earlier said Dec. 9 was the launch date.
