Two ladies … one man. Season 19 of “The Bachelor” came to a close on Monday night, forcing Chris Soules to make a decision between the final two contestants: Whitney and Becca. For the 33-year-old Iowa farmer, Whitney had all the things he was looking for in a partner. He described her as “genuine, beautiful and smart.” However, Becca had the slow progression working in her corner. Although she still hadn’t said that she was in love with him, Chris admitted that he could see himself spending the rest of his life with her.

Of course, Chris had a difficult choice to make, and things got even more complicated when the bachelor brought his family into the picture. Get the break down of the events from “The Bachelor” 2015 finale”:

Meet The Parents: Whitney

Whitney, the 29-year-old fertility nurse from Chicago, had the first date of “The Bachelor” finale. Chris’ family immediately fell in love with her, and his dad admitted that she was “everything” he’d hope for in a woman for his son.

Their love for Whitney only grew after some fun jokes, sweet stories and an emotional toast where she told his entire family that she was in love with him. The toast brought tears to the eyes of almost everyone at the table.

Later on, Whitney sat down with Chris’ sisters and mom to talk more. She explained that she was comfortable moving to Iowa, and that Arlington wasn’t holding her back. Chris’ mom said that they would be lucky to have Whitney in the family, and his sisters even admitted that they were going to miss Whitney when she left. But surprisingly, that didn’t help Chris with his tough decision. He told his family that there was a “certain chemistry” that he had with Becca that was hard to find.

“You came here to find a wife,” one of his sisters warned him. “You didn’t come here to find a girlfriend.”

Meanwhile, his brother-in-law asked if he was just into Becca because she was playing her cards close to her chest. Chris didn’t agree, but couldn’t put his feelings into words.

Meet The Parents: Becca

Becca, the 25-year-old chiropractic assistant from San Diego, had the second date with Chris and his family. Although Whitney won them over, they told the cameras that they were willing to meet Becca with an open mind.

They did like her … but they were also wary because she couldn’t fully commit to Chris. Becca admitted that she wasn’t ready to move, get married or have a baby. She knew that Whitney was ready to make the jump, and was scared that her relationship with Chris had to end if she wasn’t at the place in a couple days. She was also nervous about a long distance relationship, but was firm on not moving until she was sure.

“I’m crazy about him, but not at a point where I am in love with him,” she told his mom. That wasn’t a good enough answer for her. She asked what Becca would do if she was forced to make a decision in two days, and Becca admitted that she was put in that position after the fantasy suite date.

“I was miserable for a couple days,” Becca explained. That was what Chris’ mom wanted to hear. She told Becca that that feeling was love.

Chris’ family saw Whitney as a sure thing and Becca as a risk. However Chris said that he’d be willing to take the risk because of what he feels for her. What Chris didn’t know though is that Becca left feeling overwhelmed.

“He’s great,” she said. “It’s me. I’m not ready to say yes to a proposal.”

The Final Date: Becca

Chris and Becca had one final date together. Chris used that time to question Becca and gain some clarity. He wanted her to open up and give him everything that she could because he was struggling with his decision. But Becca couldn’t do that.

“I am falling in love with you and I hate the fact that I’m not there yet,” she told him.

Chris got a little frustrated, and began to grill her harder. He asked where she could see herself in five years, and Becca couldn’t say married and with a family. When he asked her why she wasn’t in love with him, she told him that she didn’t have an answer to the question.

Their date ended rough. Becca finally admitted that she was nervous about moving to Arlington and not having it work out, and Chris understood.

The Final Date: Whitney

Whitney’s date went a lot different from Becca’s. Chris took her to a small section of his 800-acre farm and showed her how to harvest corn. Afterwards they went to Chris’ house, where Whitney told the cameras that she felt safe and that everything felt natural.

The pair discussed their relationship even further, and Whitney had no doubts. She explained that he had exceeded all her expectations, and was everything she was looking for in a husband.

The Final Rose Ceremony

The final rose ceremony of Season 19 of “The Bachelor” took place inside the barn where Chris raised his first pig. Although he was worried about making a mistake, he sat down with jeweler Neil Lane to pick a ring to propose to either Whitney or Becca. However, he admitted to the cameras that he might not propose to anyone because he was “so torn.”

Becca entered the barn first, and Chris still wasn’t sure about what he was going to do. He told her that from the start he felt comfortable around her and saw potential in their relationship. He added that he could see her as being his wife – but then he took a deep breath.

“You’re not really ready,” Chris admitted. “I have to go with my heart and my gut. I don’t think it’s fair for either of us to take that leap at this point … I felt it and I wanted it to happen.”

Becca took the break up well. She told him that he’ll make a great husband one day and thanked him for the experience.

Whitney entered the barn after Becca left. She was really shaky when she saw Chris and told him that the entire journey was special to her.

“I love you so much and I’m so scared right now,” she said to him.

Chris spoke next, telling her that he remembers the moment she got out of the limo. He brought up their date where they crashed the wedding, and said that everything has always felt natural between them.

“It feels so right,” he continued. “And it feels so perfect. And that’s what I want for the rest of my life. I love you.”

“Oh my god,” she said. “I’ve been waiting so long to hear that I don’t want to forget this moment.”

Chris got down on one knee and proposed to Whitney. She accepted the ring and the final rose.
