Avid fans of “The Big Bang Theory,” who have been hoping to see Bernadette’s pregnancy progress quickly in the CBS show’s upcoming Season 10, would be disappointed with the latest news. The comedy series’ showrunner has shared that he has no plans in rushing through the said character’s pregnancy.

“The Big Bang Theory” showrunner Steve Molaro stated that they are planning to take the slow approach in depicting Bernadette’s pregnancy in the upcoming new season, TV Line reported. Loyal viewers of the CBS show may recall that Melissa Rauch’s character became pregnant with Howard’s (Simon Helberg) baby in Season 9. Bernadette’s expectant mother status was revealed to the viewers in Episode 15, titled "The Valentino Submergence," which aired on Feb. 11, 2016.

Molaro also indicated that for the premiere episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 10, Bernadette would only be pregnant for a “few months.” He also explained that they are thinking to let the pregnancy timeline happen in a natural way. “We're taking it slow. The plan is to just let it roll out like a regular pregnancy,” Molaro said.

It appears that fans of the show may not see Bernadette’s growing baby tummy in the initial episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 10. Some speculations pointed to Rauch’s character potentially giving birth in the upcoming new season. However, given Molaro’s revelation, it is unclear if the culmination of Bernadette’s pregnancy will happen towards the end of Season 10 or at the start of a potential Season 11.

On the other hand, it is also unsure if the CBS show will be extended for another run after Season 10. “The Big Bang Theory” cast member Kunal Nayyar has previously commented that the upcoming season could potentially be the last season of the show. The contracts of the series’ main actors and actresses are also said to expire at the end of Season 10.

CBS has yet to make an announcement of the series’ potential Season 11 extension. “The Big Bang Theory” Season 10 is expected to air in September.
