Booth (David Boreanaz, left) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will visit the 1950s in the special 200th episode of "Bones" Dec. 11. FOX

“Bones” will be off for a week before the Fox series returns Oct. 30 with episode 5. However, fans of the show looking for a little fix to get them through the off week will enjoy some newly released details about the landmark 200th episode, to air Dec. 11. The episode, which will be the 10th of the current season, will be an alternate-reality Alfred Hitchcock homage.

According to TV Line, the episode will be directed by series star David Boreanaz and put Boreanaz’ Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) in the 1950s. The episode is described as a '50s-style thriller inspired by the master of suspense. However, Executive Producer Stephen Nathan, who wrote the episode, told TV Line alternate reality might not be the right description since the characters are the same.

“It’s not an alternate reality. It’s as if Booth and Brennan existed in this world -- would they still get together?” Nation explained. “Everyone is sort of playing their own characters.”

The episode will apparently feature vintage cars and sets and will be edited to appear like the processed, Technicolor film used for films in the 1950s.

Meanwhile, the next episode of Season 10, episode 5, will feature Booth and Brennan at a forensic science convention, where the pair must solve a murder amid Brennan’s celebrity. Episode 5 will air Oct. 30, while fans will have to wait until Dec. 11 for the special 200th episode. “Bones” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
