The parents of former baseball player, Brandon Patch, were last week awarded $850,000 for the death of their son in a baseball game in 2003.

The 18-year-old patch was killed in an American Legion game after a baseball, which was hit with an aluminum Louisville Slugger baseball bat, struck him in on the head.

Patch died within hours from the head injuries sustained.

The Patch family attorney argued the bat manufacturer, Hillerich & Bradsby, did not provide proper warning about the dangers of using aluminum bats.
