The Brazilian Air Force confirmed on Saturday it found the bodies of two people aboard the Air France 447 which plunged into the Atlantic Ocean Sunday night.

We confirmed the rescue from the water of pieces and bodies that belonged to the Air France flight, Brazilian Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral said.

The first bodies found were two males, according to the spokesman. Among the debris found was a seat with a serial number that matched with the missing flight, a rucksack and a case with an Air France ticket inside, crew officials said.

Air France flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic on Sunday night after taking off from Rio de Janeiro destined to Paris with 228 people aboard.
