The popular ABC mystery show Lost was the most-watched show last week, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The show, which normally ranks as the 19th most favorite among viewers, surprised by drawing 12.3 million viewers, the research firm said. The show peaked in its final half-hour, with 12.7 million.

The show was far off from last year's season finale, down 12 percent and this year's season premiere, down 24 percent.

The finale did not also have strong contenders on the night, as most scripted series were offering postseason reruns.

Meanwhile, CBS premiered Million Dollar Password which attracted 10.62 million viewers. The Regis Philbin-hosted game show ranked third for the week.

For the week, CBS was the top network in prime time, averaging 7.33 million viewers (4.9 rating, 9 share).
