Lenovo's 55-inch Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Smart HDTV K91 IBTimes

One of the most exciting technological innovations at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 is by Lenovo - the Chinese PC maker surprised everyone at CES Unveiled on Jan. 8, by taking the wraps off of its 55-inch Smart HDTV K91, which runs on Ice Cream Sandwich OS, as well as the S2 10-inch tablet and the S2 smartphone.

This 55-inch Smart TV features an IPS LED display running on 1080p (full HD) resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a removable 2GB SD card, a 5-MP camera built into the display, 3D FPR technology, and integrated 802.11b/g/n WiFi support.

The most amazing thing is that people can download movies, songs and other apps from Lenovo Apps Store for FREE. The TV apps are customizable and over a hundred apps are preloaded.

In addition, the TV has a remote control that features a touchpad, a 5 ways direction pad and a motion sensor. According to Lenovo, the remote control also follows voice commands.

Lenovo will also launch a 42-inch Smart TV model. Lenovo said those two models will hit Chinese market in April initially and then will flood the international market. The PC maker did not disclose the price for both the models.

Meanwhile, Lenovo also announced the arrival of a smartphone called S2 running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

The S2 is powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 512MB/1GB of RAM. It also features an 8-MP rear camera, a front-facing 0.3-MP camera for video chatting, and a 3.8-inch screen with 800x480-pixel resolution.

The S2 will be available in 8 GB and 16 GB immediately in China. But we have not been given the international launch date from Lenovo.

Furthermore, Lenovo also announced some tablets that will be available in China soon.

The most attractive one is the 10-inch IdeaTab K2 gaming and multimedia tablet powered by Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The K2 tablet is running on Ice Cream Sandwhich OS. It features a 1,920x1,200 IPS display, a full-size USB port, 1GB or 2GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 64GB of storage.

Anohter is IdeaTab S2 which will have 4 different screen sizes: 5-inch, 7-inch, 9-inch and 10-inch. The 10-inch S2 is also running on Ice Cream Sandwich OS and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual-core 1.7GHZ CPU, a 5-MP rear-facing camera and a front-facing camera, up to 64GB of storage, and a second battery with up to 20 hours of battery life.

The company also said its cloud service will be available later in 2012.
