Chinese importers of equipment and raw materials used in the construction of third-generation nuclear power plants can apply for tax exemption, a notice issued by the country's industry ministry said on Wednesday.

The notice, issued on the website of the Ministry for Industry and Information Technology (http://www.miit.gov.cn) also said importers of raw materials used in natural gas pipelines and oil refineries with capacity above 10 million tonnes a year would also be able to apply for tax exemption following an adjustment to China's raw materials import rules.

The exemptions will also apply to importers of raw materials used to build large ships, new subway carriages and cotton spinning equipment, the notice said.
