A Foxconn facility in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu has begun the process of making Apple Inc's next-generation iPhone 15.

Ola Electric founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said the facility will open next year. It will allow them to start using Indian-manufactured cells in their motorbikes.

India has increased force levels and assumed a military posture designed to anticipate and deter Chinese aggression at their shared border.

"It is 'Modi's guarantee' that India will become the third largest global economy in the next five years," the prime minister said as he addressed the nation on the country's 77th Independence Day.

The plans for Aditya-L1 include placing the spacecraft in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1)--around 1.5 million km from the Earth--of the Sun-Earth system.

Taiwanese tech giant and key Apple supplier Foxconn said Monday it sees the potential to invest "several billion dollars" in India, with the firm looking to diversify its manufacturing away from China.

"India doesn't have to add new coal-based power plants, and all future growth in demand will be met by efficient usage of existing assets and new renewable energy sources," Sunil Dahiya from Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) said.

Around nine people were killed after a landslide led to the collapse of a temple and another seven people were killed due to a cloudburst in the last 24 hours.

"There is no danger that they interfere with each other or collide. There is enough space for everyone on the moon," the Russian space agency said.

"This is the third time in succession that ISRO has successfully inserted its spacecraft into the lunar orbit, apart from doing so into the Martian orbit," the space agency noted in a statement.

"Given the rigid Chinese stand on border issue, I would consider this is a golden opportunity for India to slowly disengage Indian economy from Chinese supply chain. India should look for alternative trading partners," said Sanjib Pohit, author and professor at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), India.

The U.S. Department of State has called for calm and urged the communities to "refrain from violent actions" in light of the incidents.

"Indian manufacturers are looking for collaboration opportunities with international players to access the technology and finance at low cost," Vibhuti Garg, director, South Asia at IEEFA, said, adding that India can "set up the big capacities not only to meet their internal demand but also export to other countries and accelerate the roadmap to energy transition."
