A couple who had 16 children, 12 of them adopted, was murdered at their Beulah home in Florida, near Pensacola on Thursday night.

The couple, Byrd and Melanie Billings was apparently shot, one of them in the head, according to Escambia County Police spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy, CNN reports today.

The bodies were found by an employee of the couple. The children were also in the house but none of them was hurt, according to Roy.
