A Dallas car chase that lasted about two hours on Friday has ended without any injuries, police said.

Police began chasing a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck when its driver ran from a gas station without paying a 20 gallon refill of fuel. The driver also tried to hit an officer when police attempted to pull the truck over, according to the Dallas News today.

Police chased the truck on the highway as the driver was seen smoking cigarettes and talking on the phone. He was reportedly making a peace sign at the news helicopters following the chase, the paper reports.

Finally, police forced the truck off the road into a rain-soaked ditch and the man was submitted and handcuffed, according to the report.
