NBC seems to be finding success by hiring comedians for their network shows, and they are keeping with the formula. Comedian Dane Cook is set to star in NBC's new comedy pilot, Next Caller Please.

Stephen Falk, producer of Showtime's Weeds, will be a writer as well as executive producer for the series. The pilot, directed by marc Buckland, will revolve around alpha male radio DJ Cam (Cook), and his feminist co-host, Stella, played by Collette Wolfe.

Cook had originally inked a deal with NBC this past September to develop a half hour comedy. The comedian is relatively new to television, having guest spots on shows Hawaii 5-0 and Louie. However, Cook is familiar with starring on the big screen in films like Dan in Real Life, My Best Friend's Girl, Employee of the Month, and Good Luck Chuck.
