When it comes to talking about his new role as the depraved Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, actor Tom Hardy is staying mum.

I can't [talk about it], so let's have another question. Have you got another question? Because you can't have this one, Hardy said when MTV News pressed him about his role. No, you can't! Hardy repeated as the reporter pressed even further. No! No! No! No!

The English actor will appear as the masked muscle-gifted strongman who famously breaks Batman's back in the comics, leading to a story arc where Bruce Wayne recoveres whilst someone took over Bat duties.

Christopher Nolan, the film's director, is typically secretive where plot details are concerned -- Hardy's reticence, therefore, understood -- for Dark Knight Rises, the followup to The Dark Knight and Batman Begins.

I love people. People are lovely creatures. I'm one myself [so] I love to see people happy, Hardy said of fan reaction to the trailer that played during the latest Harry Potter flick. The Dark Knight Rises looks like it's going to be an awesome, awesome movie. I saw the trailer myself and I am very excited, too.

I shouldbe working [on 'The Dark Knight Rises'] right now, in fact. I came to Comic-Con just to have a little look, Hardy divulged.
