The car accident that killed Diana, Princess of Wales, stunned the world. Thursday marks the 20-year anniversary of the fatal crash, and many have questioned the circumstances around her death.

The startling car crash sparked rumors and controversies regarding its cause, but according to her former butler, Paul Burrell, Princess Diana may have had foresight into her death.

Princess Diana died as result of injuries sustained in the August 31, 1997 crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris. Princess Diana's love interest at the time, Dodi Fayed, and Henri Paul, the driver of the Mercedes, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived.

According to a "never been seen before letter" Burrell revealed during Britain’s news show "Sunday Night," Princess Diana might have had knowledge of a possible car accident.

"I do have a lot of letters," Burrell told correspondent Melissa Doyle from his house in northern England. "I’ve never shown them before and I’m deeply reluctant to show them now."

"This particular letter is rather poignant. It’s rather spooky to think that she sat and prophesized her own death," he said.

In a portion of a letter that Burrell received 20 years ago, Princess Diana mentioned a possible car crash. She said that her former husband, Prince Charles, was planning an accident in her car so that he could marry Camilla, Dutchess of Cornwall. Prince Charles and Camilla were married in 2005.

"This particular phase in my life is the most dangerous," the letter read. "My husband is planning ‘an accident’ in my car, brake failure and serious head injury in order to make the path clear for him to marry Camilla."

When asked if Princess Diana’s thoughts were original or presented to her by a clairvoyant, Burell confirmed that an astrologer consulted Princess Diana before the crash.

"Some of these thoughts did come from mystics but you can’t get away from the fact that she wrote it," he told "Sunday Night." "She took time to sit down and actually write down her fears."

Astrologer Debbie Frank presented Princess Diana with her horoscope a month prior to the infamous car crash, The Sun reported Sunday. Frank apparently predicted that a massive event would occur during the weekend of the Paris accident.

Frank and Princess Diana dissected her astrology chart during a session at Kensington Palace that apparently revealed an eclipse or a rare occurrence that signified a possible life-altering event, according to Frank.

"We were looking at her chart and I said to Diana, 'Oh there’s an eclipse,'" Frank told The Sun.

Princess Diana interpreted it as something positive, based on her feelings about her life at the time and her impending ambassador work, Frank said.

"She seemed calm, happy and optimistic about the future and told me, 'My life is moving in a different way.' She saw it as a positive," Frank said.

Frank added, "She was really happy with Dodi, she was spending more time with the boys and embarking on more work as an ambassador. We thought the alignment could be a positive."

A mutual friend introduced Frank and Princess Diana in 1989, the two stayed in regular contact. Princess Diana apparently used astrology as "therapy" and contacted Frank about three times a day, according to the Sun.

Frank explained that she didn't predict Princess Diana's death before it happened. She said that astrologers couldn’t predict death and that fate played a role.

"I had no idea she would die," Frank told the Sun. "I would never have been able to stop it. Let’s get one thing clear, astrologers can’t predict death."

She added, "So I couldn’t tell her not to get into a car, or to stay at home. Some things are tragic fate."
