The new Battlefield 1943 will be launched on Xbox 360 on July 8 and to Sony Playstation 3 on July 9. The title includes two new modes and four WWII maps - Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Coral Sea.

Our goal is to blow people away with a fully accessible, retail-calibre game for veteran Battlefield fans and shooter fans alike to enjoy, Van Dyke added

Battlefield 1943 will retail for $15 on the Playstation Network or 1200 points on Microsoft Xbox Live.
