Electronic Arts has become the latest game publisher to come under investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, on Thursday, as the group investigates its stock option grant practices.

The commission is requesting certain documents and information relating to EA's stock option grant practices from January 1st 1997 to the present.

EA intends to cooperate with all matters related to this request, said the publisher.

Publishers THQ, Activision and Take 2 Games have also received requests from the SEC to supply documents and information related to stock option grant practices.

The SEC is currently running over 100 investigations to uncover whether companies have manipulated stock option prices given to top executives.
