The European Commission said on Thursday that it will host the international development community in Brussels next month at a conference to discuss ways to improve business and development in Africa.

The first ever European Development Days (EDD) will be held between November 13 and 17. It will also allow key players to discuss governance issues in Africa

Members will also work towards implementing the Millennium Development Goals. The MDGs include eradicating extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. The EDD said it wants to send a positive message about "Africa on the move'.

The President of the World Bank, Paul Wolfowitz; will attend, as will 16 African Heads of State and Government. Also among those appearing will be officials from the UN, EU, NGOs, and business leaders from both continents.
