Fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander who is awaiting sentence in Los Angeles Superior Court for various sexual assaults to aspiring models on Monday asked the judge for a new trial.

Alexander, 35, is claiming the jury that convicted him in November of 14 counts including rape by force, was not fair or impartial, the Associated Press reports.

The judge, David Wesley did not rule on Alexander's plea before breaking for lunch, reports the agency.

His prosecutors ask to give him the maximum sentence possible of three terms of 53 years and six months to life, according to the Associated Press.
