New York Mets announced Tuesday they have selected the contract of Buffalo Bisons OF Fernando Martinez.

Both Jose Reyes and Ryan Church were placed on the 15-day disabled list, the Mets announced Tuesday and outfielder Fernando Martinez has been called up.

The decision to place Reyes on the DL (right calf tendinitis), Minaya said, was made because of a lack of significant improvement over the past day.

Martinez currently leads the International League with his 25 extra-base hits. He is also T2nd in the IL in doubles (15) and T6th in home runs (8).
