A state police officer had sex with a woman on the hood of a car in broad daylight in New Mexico, as seen in a picture captured from a surveillance camera obtained by KOB Eyewitness News 4.

The Santa Fe New Mexican claims the man is Bert Lopez, citing unnamed sources.

Parts of the pictured were blurred by KOB, but it clearly shows that the act was committed in broad day light, the officer was wearing full uniform, and the officer was even wearing his utility belt. However, the act was committed in a remote area.

KOB first reported the news two weeks ago. Then, it filed a public records request to obtain the photo.

So far, the New Mexico state police are not commenting on the photo and have declined KOB's request for an interview. The officer has not been charged yet. He is, however, placed on administrative leave with pay.

He was previously the state police officer of the year and served on former governor Bill Richardson's security detail, reported KOB. The Santa Fe New Mexican claims Lopez, who it identified as the officer, received a Challenge Coin in July for going above and beyond the call of duty.

With that kind of judgment you don't want him carrying a weapon, New Mexico resident Albert Loma told KOB.

Below are more reactions to the photo compiled by KOB and CNN. The CNN video points out that oddly, a Chihuahua was watching the act, as the picture shows.
