A major battle scene was reportedly filmed at the production set of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 recently. The battle is said to take place between some of the major powers in the northern parts of Westeros.

[Spoiler alert]

According to a report by WinterIsComing, a battle scene involving the House Bolton fighting against the Wildlings was filmed recently. The Wildlings have reportedly got the support of the Karstarks, the Umbers and the remnant forces of Stannis’ (Stephen Dillane) army.

The report speculated that this may be a “climatic battle” that may take a long time to film, as it may require a lot of CGI. A leaked picture from the set where the battle scene is being filmed, posted on the Twitter page of Troy Towsley, shows smoke rising up into the air.

After the death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), it has been speculated for some time now that the character will return in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The report speculated that the first thing that Jon would want to do is lead the Wildlings to attack the Boltons, if he is informed that his sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) is being held by them.

A tweet by Irish Thrones stated that sources familiar with the production of the show have now confirmed that Benjen Stark will return in the next season and will want to seek “vengeance” along with Jon Snow. The report has still not been verified and readers are advised to consider this to be a rumor at this time.

Benjen Stark has only appeared in the first season of the TV series that aired in 2011 and the role was played by Joseph Mawle. So far there haven’t been any reports to confirm that the actor is filming scenes in Northern Ireland for the popular TV series, while pictures of many of the other cast members at the production site have surfaced online.

Production of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is also taking place in Spain. According to a report by DiarioDeNavarra, filming is expected to begin soon in Bardenas and the crew members have started to build the relevant sets and bringing in the props.
