General Electric Co raised its quarterly dividend by 2 cents per share to 14 cents, marking its second increase in the payout this year.

The largest U.S. conglomerate last raised its dividend in July, also by 2 cents a share. It remains well below the 31-cent quarterly rate that was in place before Chief Executive Officer Jeff Immelt slashed the payout in 2009, amid the financial crisis.

GE shares were up 1.6 percent at $17.41 on the New York Stock Exchange.
