General Motors will have a plug-in hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV) for fleet testing in early 2011, the company's new product development chief said, according to the Associated Press.

It wasn't disclosed under which brand the vehicle will be produced but it will have to be among Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC, the four remaining brands of the company, Tom Stephens, Vice Chairman of GM said in the report.

The car's efficiency will feature double the city gas mileage of any other traditional SUV, Stephens said.

GM wouldn't say when the vehicles will be in the showrooms.
