Justin Bieber does not understand what girls actually mean when they say something, so he has come out with a song about it. Titled “What Do You Mean,” his new single will be released Aug. 28.

“Well, girls are often just flip-floppy,” the Canadian pop star explained to show host Ryan Seacrest in a hush-hush tone, on the show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, on Wednesday morning. “They say something and they mean something else. So … what do you mean? I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.”

Bieber described the song as “fun and summery” and said he worked really hard on it with a guy named Poo Bear. Bieber, who was dressed in his casual best on the show, also talked about his next album. He told Seacrest it will have songs that are “along the same lines” as his last hit single “Where Are U Now.” “It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” Bieber said.

The pop star also praised DJ Skrillex and Diplo, who collaborated with him on “Where Are U Now.” “The sounds are super expensive. Skrillex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound,” he said about the duo. Bieber is excited about his first album in three years and said that his work is so new and fresh that he feels like “no one has done it before.”

The “Baby” hitmaker also talked about working hard and putting in a lot of effort for his album. Bieber also has a habit of getting obsessed with his work until he delivers what is exactly on his mind. The singer also talked about his insecurities related to his music as he often wonders if his work is “good enough” for his fans. He did not announce any release date or title for the album.
