Grand Theft Auto V” has three new trailers where players can meet the game’s protagonists.

Rockstar Games will release “Grand Theft Auto V” on Sept. 17, 2013, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while a PC version of the game is expected but has yet to be announced. “GTA 5” will bring players to Los Santos, “a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities, once the envy of the Western world, now struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV.”

Players already knew a little bit about the three protagonists of “GTA 5,” Trevor, Michael and Franklin, but the three trailers released by Rockstar Games on Tuesday fleshes out each of the main characters.

Trevor is a violent drug dealer, and, in the trailer, players get to see some very deranged encounters.

Michael’s trailer is very different as the retired ex-con with plenty of money and a family, but his attempts to settle down are thwarted by a cheating wife and his own nature.

Franklin is a gangster who is trying to make a name for himself and get away from a life of crime but that means getting dragged into high-speed chases with police as helicopters track his movements.

Rockstar Games has yet to reveal full details about gameplay and features that will be included in the latest entry to the “GTA” series. “GTA V” will keep the “sandbox” approach as its predecessors, letting players switch between the main storyline or get swept up in the side quests or running afoul of the police. As the Sept. 17 date gets closer, expect to hear more “Grand Theft Auto V” details to be revealed by Rockstar Games.
