Heath Ledger's funeral arrangements were confirmed on Thursday and his relatives and friends are expected to arrive in New York by Friday, according to news reports.

Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life, but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him, his father, Kim Ledger, said in a statement.

The Frank E. Campbell funeral home's general manager, George Amado told Associated Press that the actors body has been taken to the funeral home on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Wednesday.

The Australian-born actor was found dead by his housekeeper and a masseuse, lying naked and unresponsive on his bed at his SoHo apartment. Police said that bottles of prescription sleeping aids were found nearby and say he could have possibly died from an overdose.

The autopsy results released on Wednesday were inconclusive and further test results are not expected for in the next days, a medical examiners spokesperson said.

New York Police Department did confirm that no illegal drugs were found in the apartment after rumors started to fly when reports were made of a rolled up $20 bill being found on the premises. Officials have also said there were no signs that the actor committed suicide or attempted to, nor any sign of foul play.

The officials said three of the drugs were prescribed in Europe. Ledger had recently been filming in London.

Larry Williams, father of Ledger's onetime fiancée Michelle Williams, called the actor a great talent and a doting father to his two-year-old daughter, Matilda.

Heath was nominated for an Oscar for Brokeback Mountain, in 2005, where he met his ex, actress Michelle Williams. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, but the couple split up last year.

Ledger latest work was The Dark Night, a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins that recently finished filming in which he stars as the Joker.

Devastated Williams and Matilda returned to their Brooklyn home Wednesday evening from Trollhattan, Sweden where she had been shooting scenes for the upcoming film Mammoth.
