Fans only just finished binge-watching Season 3 of Netflix’s “House of Cards,” but production is already set to begin for Season 4. At a Season 3 screening event at the TV Academy in Los Angeles Monday night, show creator Beau Willimon discussed where the new season might take Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood’s story, including one of the biggest question marks from the latest episodes: Will Claire really leave Frank?

In the political drama's Season 3 finale, Claire told Frank she was moving out of the White House and leaving him after a season full of strife brought on by an impending election and tense negotiations with Russia. Willimon says he wants fans to be on pins and needles about Claire.

"We know she's walking out," Willimon told E! Online. "She says, 'I'm leaving you.' ...Whether it's completely broken, that's what we want people sucking on like a lozenge for however many months until we release the next season."

Willimon previously told the Hollywood Reporter that he realized it was a struggle for many viewers to see their favorite TV marriage on the brink, but that he and the writers had no choice.

"A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back," Willimon said. "We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, and the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."

Will Claire really leave Frank? Can the Underwoods' marriage recover? Fans will have to wait to find out. Season 4 of “House of Cards” is expected to premiere in the spring of 2016 on Netflix.
