Do you procrastinate when it comes to booking your Thanksgiving travel? You're not alone. A new study by travel booking site Hopper finds that fewer than 40 percent of all Thanksgiving travel searches occurred before October last year.

But if you really want to snag a deal, book now: With 80 days to go until Thanksgiving, prices for flights for the holiday are currently 14 percent lower than last year's figures. And it makes sense to keep an eye on fares in order to book within a few weeks. Research conducted by CheapAir.com found that the best prices for an air ticket are usually found 54 days before departure.
