The University at Buffalo Bulls will play against the University of Connecticut Huskies in college football's International Bowl, on Saturday noon at the Rogers Center.

Buffalo won only 16 games in its first nine years as a member of the F.B.S. This makes the Bulls' eight-win 2008 all the more impressive.

The clear face of the Buffalo program is Gill, who has led the Bulls to three-win improvements in each of the last two seasons from 2-10 in 2006 to 5-7 last fall to 8-5.

University of Connecticut has clinched a winning record for the fourth time in the last six with a 7-5 mark.

Success at UB could lead to bigger opportunities for Gill, who wouldn't rule out coaching in the NFL.

I would be open to that, I'm not going to shutout anything, said Gill, who recently agreed to a one-year extension at University at Buffalo Bulls.
