Iomega unveils a BlackBelt Portable Hard Drive 500GB USB 2.0 to be available in June while other Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive USB 2.0 family of drives are now available.

Iomega has upgraded eGo USB hard drives that now come out in different colors and capacities. The Iomega eGo family are the new BlackBelt Portable Hard Drive 500GB, the 250GB Ruby Red eGo model and the 320GB Ruby Red, Midnight Blue and Silver eGo models.

The eGo models featured a new look of USB 2.0 ruggedness ready and the bundled with suite for data protection. The new eGo drive sports a compact, sleek new aluminum enclosure in eye-catching colors and comes complete with a suite of backup and anti-virus software to protect your data and your laptop, netbook or personal computer, said Jonathan Huberman, President of Iomega and the Consumer and Small Business Products Division of EMC.

According to the compay, the key element of the Iomega Protection Suite is McAfee VirusScan Plus, Iomega QuikProtect for simple backup, EMC Retrospect Express or Express HD for full backup of data, applications and settings, and a MozyHome Online Backup. All the software mentioned are available via easy download to new eGo Portable Hard Drive owners.

Prices varies on the capacity of the USB, 500GB Ruby Red is $134.99, the 320GB Ruby Red, Midnight Blue and Silver eGo models are $94.99, the 250GB Ruby Red eGo model is priced at $84.99, and are available from online retailers, VARs, resellers and select retailers, as well as at the company’s website.

All new eGo units are bundled with a 3-year limited warranty.
