Over 70 schools in the earthquake-stricken city of Fukushima began classes on Wednesday for the first time since the disaster.

Previously, there were concerns about exposing the children to radiation leakages from power plants. However, according to officials, the schools and playgrounds outside a 30km radius from the power plants are safe.

Although some parents still harbor concerns, many have allowed the children to go back on Wednesday, April 6. Below are photos of Japanese children in schools in Fukushima.
